An accessible website can be used by everyone because it has no barriers. Making your site accessible means a truly good user experience for everyone. Part of the aim for Govt.nz is to make the site as inclusive as possible and building accessibility into all their processes is how they are attempting to do that.

What

At this lunchtime session, Katherine Barcham (Advisor Digital Engagement) and Meg Howie (Govt.nz Web and Service Designer) will demonstrate some basic tests anyone can use to check a website’s accessibility. They’ll talk about some of the accessibility challenges the team has on www.Govt.nz and discuss how they’ve worked to resolve them. They will also talk about how the Govt.nz team embed accessibility into their design, development and content processes.
