Review: Government Online Engagement Service — GOES

In 2016 and 2017, the Department of Internal Affairs developed and tested a Government Online Engagement Service (GOES) tool that allowed agencies to set up and manage online consultations, which were hosted on This review is part of the work Government Information Services (GIS) did with the State Services Commission on the Open Government Partnership (OGP).

The Government Online Engagement Service (GOES) is a multi-stage initiative that began in 2013.

Its aim is to make it easy for people to provide feedback into policy discussions and the design of government services, so government can make better decisions with greater public confidence, trust and legitimacy.
