Telecommunications as a Service (TaaS) panel expands suppliers and services

Today the Government Chief Digital Officer expanded the panel of suppliers appointed to provide telecommunications services to New Zealand Government.

This creates more choice for Government agencies with new suppliers and services across 4 service categories, including: communications, connectivity, contact centre and managed security.

TaaS is an open panel, which gives new suppliers the opportunity to join the panel or enhance existing services in the future as the market and agency requirements evolve.

12 new suppliers have joined the panel and some existing TaaS panel suppliers have successfully expanded their service offerings. 66 percent of the suppliers on the expanded panel are New Zealand based companies.

General Manager Chris Webb says, 'This is a great example of how we’ve engaged the market and connected it with agency needs, all the while growing and supporting local talent.'

The Telecommunications as a Service (TaaS) panel is an ICT common capability available to all eligible government agencies. Over 200 agencies currently use the panel demonstrating a compelling value proposition.
