Provide oversight and direction for agencies to make their digital investment more efficient and cost-effective.
What’s the plan?
Work closely with the Treasury to drive digital investment principles that make more effective and efficient use of public funds, and:
- provide investment advice and services to agencies
- use investment insights to drive system improvements.
How’s it going?
In , Cabinet granted the GCDO stronger mandate over the government’s digital investments. Since then the GCDO has established the Digital Investment Office (DIO).
DIO provides insights into current and planned digital spending. The GCDO and government agencies use these insights to inform strategic digital investments and priorities across the public sector.
What’s next?
The GCDO and DIO continue to work collaboratively with the Treasury and other public service system leaders to achieve government-wide strategies and outcomes for digital investment.
