  • how to use plain language to make sure that content is clear, consistent and easy to find
  • style, grammar and punctuation for different types of content
  • readability and inclusive writing
  • useful tools for content designers.

When to use the content design guidance

The guidance is based on best practice for public sector digital content, so it is recommended that you follow it.

If your agency has its own style guide that suits your work, you should use that. The guidance on Digital.govt.nz can be used to check, update or add to your own style guide.
